In the summer of 2009, volunteers with the North Westside Communities Association installed the extension to the boat launch which had been poured the previous year. The purpose of the extension was to enable larger boats and/or longer trailers to get their boats into the lake and to make some much needed repairs to the area next to the dock where erosion and wave action had moved the lake bottom around leaving large gaps beneath the existing boat launch pad.
